South Boundary Trail in Glacier National Park. It runs from the park's West Entrance to Coal Creek; however, Lincoln Creek is the most common turnaround point.
The trail crosses the historic Belton Bridge before following the river. As the trail travels along the base of the Belton Hills in John F Stevens Canyon, the elevation fluctuates a lot.
There are multiple opportunities to turn around or veer off the trail and change your destination. If you choose to ford the river at all, we recommend not doing so before August. The Middle Fork crossing can be hazardous, especially in the spring.
Trailhead Directions: Turn onto Grinnell Drive towards the Park Headquarters in West Glacier Take a right on Mather Drive to the end of the road Park and head down toward the river
