This remote adventure is well worth the 30 mile drive from Troy, MT. The forest of Cedars rather unique for Montana has its own atmosphere - this area feels like a rainforest even in the middle of summer. A great trail with lots to see and explore meanders through the cedars and someone created a cairn garden you can add your own tower to. Huckleberries are prolific in this area in early July. There is plenty of parking and a pit toilet is available as well as picnic tables.
