This a great free tent campsite along the west bank of the North Fork of the Flathead River. There are only a few primitive spots in the shade of the trees. This is a busy put in and take out spot for boats so there will be people and traffic all day. This is near Camas Road which is an official entrance to Glacier National Park.
This is a great, free spot to camp outside of Glacier National Park! We can never find a campground inside the park because we don't plan far enough ahead. This one is a 30 minute drive to the Apgar visitors center, and it's right on the North Fork Flathead River! The only negatives about this spot are; you have to park your car in the sunny parking area... which is a little walk to the 3-4 camping spots. And there aren't a ton of trees around — Just a few pine trees around the camping area. But the views looking across the river into the edge of Glacier totally make up for it!! And there's a pit toilet, so that's a plus!
