Looking over the edge of the dam is like sitting atop a roller coaster. It is an impressive sight! Hungry Horse Reservoir is just as impressive as one of the larger lakes in Montana. The dam is only 4.5 miles outside of Hungry Horse, MT making it an easy excursion. Primitive camping is available in the surrounding national forest.
So fun to visit in early October,the colors were beautiful and we had the whole place to ourselves!
