Horseshoe Lake - Turquoise Water in Northwest Montana

This is my favorite water to swim in all of Montana. The scenery is perfect and the water is as pretty as it gets for Montana. This area is very busy with campers during summer but well worth the fuss if you can land a spot. There are two ropes swings on the lake. The first is across the lake from the boat ramp to the south and a little to the east. The second rope swing is in the southwest corner of the lake and is more easily accessible by driving back there. This lake is open to the public and is free but there is a Montana State Park on a nearby lake that has an entrance fee.
