Hell Roaring Creek Trail is in the Custer Gallatin National Forest near Big Sky, Montana. It's a beautiful little hike that's fit for the whole family.
The initial part of the trail is switchbacked, and the majority of the climb takes place. After the switchbacks, the trail levels out, and the gain is gradual. The path also varies between being narrow and wide enough for two people.
There is a lot of noise from the highway for the first mile of the hike. As you get closer to the bridge, the noise is drowned out by the roaring of the Creek.
Hell Roaring Creek Trail can be made as short as you'd like. There's no distinguished end of the trail. It's a short and sweet family-friendly trail! The path is very shaded, so we recommend bringing layers.
